Apps have done an incredible job allowing us to pick up skills no matter our age, and no app does that better than Duolingo, a foreign language app designed to help you learn the most common languages spoken around the world today. Designed by those that love to teach language, you simply make an account, choose a language and begin start delving into a developed lesson that introduces you to nouns, verbs, adjectives and everything in between.

Voted “The best language-learning app” by the Wall Street Journal, Duolingo has captured the minds of over 60 million people. Each lesson comes in stages that you are asked to redo on a timely basis in order to properly memorize the information. All for free, it brings you over 34 hours of content dedicated to each language, an amount equivalent to a semester of language in college. There are even daily games that further test you and prompt you to practice to further cement your comprehension.

As far as reviews are concerned, it is an excellent app with a few minor issues. For some, the app simply stops working after a few weeks. Others are more interested in the program adding a vocabulary list that is more inclusive of what you learn as the lessons progress. In addition, the website is considered the superior learning device due to the fact it isn’t limited by mobile phone space requirements. Regardless, the Duolingo app is the best language-learning app on the market today. And the best part? It’s entirely free.
